The ketogentic diet is the latest fad diet. In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro says that the lifecycle of the fad diet is that it goes away and comes back with a cooler name. None of these diets are new; however, Alpha’s going over the ketogenic diet.

How the Keto Diet Works
The body, including your brain, needs glucose to function. The glucose comes from carbs. But wthout glucose, your body will use ketones instead of carbs. The ketogenic diet takes your body into the state of ketosis where your body burns fats for energy. The object of the diet is to force your body to get into and stay in a glycogen deprived state and maintain a mild state of ketosis. You find out if you’re in ketosis by urinating on a keto-stick. The Up and Down Sides
The keto diet has no starches. The upside is that fat falls off, and you can eat as much fat as you want. It’s all about fat. Some claim that they think clearer and that cancer can’t thrive and grow in the absence of glucose. The downside is the keto-flu when starting the diet. Another downside is low energy levels – your body needs carbohydrates. Without carbs, you have a zero chance of gaining muscle because you need glucose and glycogen.

Educate Yourself
It’s crazy how little people know about what they’re consuming and why their body needs certain things. People need to educate themselves about what is important for your body.   1. Guys, losing weight doesn't have to be hard (I used to feel it did). I'll give you some advice right now. Look for a diet plan known as Custokebon Secrets. Seriously, that diet plan has transformed my life. I probably shouldn't even be mentioning it cause I do not want a bunch of other folks out there running the same "game" but whatever, I'm in a good mood today so I'll share the wealth haha.

  4. I haven't gone to the side of keto, but I always keep my carbs around 70-100 grams and it has helped a lot. I prioritize protein and fats to stay lean and satiated. I was in shape while eating 300+ grams of carbs a day, but I honestly got ravenous after a while.

  5. I’ve lost 10 pounds in a week which is what I know is mostly if not all water weight my plan is to lose my goal weight then start building my body up with muscle off the keto and onto a different one that’ll help with muscle mass

  6. Pretty stupid honestly. It's ok for short term weight loss or if you are totally cool with cutting out a SHITLOAD of foods long term. But it's honestly pretty easy to just eat fairly normally and still meet your goals. Calories in calories out. It's been said a MILLION times and it is completely true. It doesn't much matter what you eat to lose weight as long as your in a deficit calorically. Just eat lots of low calorie dense, single ingredient foods. Try and avoid processed foods, things with added sugar and foods that are less filling but have tons of calories like peanut butter. Don't drink your calories. Choose 0 calorie drinks like water, diet soda and sparkling flavored drinks with no sugar. It really isn't that hard and is MUCH more attainable for the average person as you don't haven to be so damn obsessive over macros. There are thousands of amazing tasting, low calorie, high protein recipes online. Use them. Really, I did keto for the first month or two during my initial weight loss journey and while it was ok because it made it really easy to regulate calories (it's tough to overeat with your ootiins so limited), it was really annoying and my performance in the gym was not optimal. When I learned a bit more about ways to stay in a deficit and still have satisfying meals I was much happier with food. My performance on heavy lifts improved a fair bit, I didn't have to obsess about staying in fucking ketosis, I lost fat just as quickly and staying consistent with my diet was MUCH easier. Keto works for sure but why make it so complicated when there are easier more satisfying techniques that get you the same results?

  8. I always avoided diets because I thought I wouldn't be able to eat pizza or pancakes. Diet plan I got from Next Level Diet allows me to have cheat meals and still keep my fitness journey on track. If you don't believe me, visit their site and try it yourself.

The human body produces its own glycogen when in ketosis with glycerol from fat, amino acids from protein and lactase produced by the small intestine; however, it only produces enough to fill the liver. Of course, that is okay because the muscles don't need glycogen to grow they just need protein and energy, which they can get from ketones.

    Some people incorrectly assume they can jump on the Keto Diet and immediately take full benefit of it but it takes the average person about 7-weeks of ketosis to fully re-adapt to fat burning.

    High amounts of glycerol for exercise are not necessary if you properly work out using High Intensity Training, Arthur Jones-style.

    Before you workout, eat a mixture of at least 1 serving of local honey and your favorite nutbutter and as much pink Himalayan salt as you can. A single serving of the mix should be around 25-grams of carbs, which is 100 calories or 5% of 2,000. If you're eating more total calories then you can up your carbs. The sodium is necessary for glucose absorption and you're going to sweat some out. As you workout your cortisol levels will increase, raising your insulin further to help soak up the sugar. Drink a coconut and protein shake after your workout to fill your muscles with protein and get a quick boost of ketones.

    On days you don't workout, which should be 6 of 7 a week if you do HIT properly, you can replace the honey mix with raw milk that doesn't have lactose so doesn't cause intolerance. 1 glass of raw milk has about 12-grams or 48-calories of carbs.

    The stomach cannot digest carbohydrates(the actual chemical chains) but protein and fat can be digested by the stomach.

    Portions of Vitamin-C compete with glucose for the same GLUT 1, 3 and 4 transmitters so usually don't get absorbed when eating high-carb diets. Like glucose and galactose, all vitamin-c requires sodium to be absorbed so if you're eating high-carbs you need more sodium than if you were eating high-fat yet medical professionals tell you to limit your sodium intake. Vitamin-c is used in iron absorption so the more carbs you ingest, the less vitamin-c you absorb and therefore the less iron you absorb. Conversely, the less carbs and more fat you eat the less vitamin-c you need to ingest.

    If anyone is questioning the bias of the research I posted then here is evidence that the NCBI is funded by the U.S. government and pharmaseutical companies that push the Standard American Diet(against Keto) and the World Health Organization that promotes a high-carb, low-fat(against Keto) diet, meaning anything they release should be biased in favor of their diets but the physiological and biochemical facts state otherwise.

  10. Don’t do the keto diet if you’re a woman. I tried this diet and lost my period for 6 months, lost all my energy, and had a bunch of health problems. Spent another 6 months trying to get my period back. Needless to say, I had to gain all my weight back and some more to get my period back. And now my bones have gotten weaker. (Look up how periods affect bone density.)
