  4. New subscriber. Been doing a Lazy/Dirty Keto for about 6 months and lost 40 lbs, then the pandemic hit and I fell off the wagon and started eating garbage. Luckily I only put on 8 lbs, but its time to get back and do it right! Watched your 4 week series for weekly menu's and I'm so inspired. Then I just saw you have a video for General Tso Chicken…..You just won my heart!

  5. Sahil, I don't know if you will read this comment but: After watching dr. Jason Fung – I would not recommend counting calories on the keto diet. Many studies have shown that calorie reduction leads to slowing your metabolism in term the weight loss will be harder and easier to regain weight. Instead an intermittent fasting strategy is much better and will increase metabolic rate. Simply doing 16h of fast and 8 hours of eating or even the one meal a day (OMAD) strategy together with keto will do you much better than eating frequently but less. It is true that the body switches naturally from burning dietary fat to burning body fat, so the difference wouldn't be huge, but with regular eating you are making your ghrelin hormone spike at times when you are used to eating and that causes the feeling of hunger (expecting food). The other thing is also that the body doesn't have a calorie receptor, it has a fat, protein and dietary fiber receptor – and eating "XY" number of calories does not mean you will burn XY+ calories. Basically it is easier to throw your body into starvation mode where it reduces how many calories it is burning doing calorie restriction diet vs eating in an intermittent fasting way. A contributing factor to insulin is not just the amount of carbs, and since you can not control how your insulin reacts to eating it's much easier to control weight loss with fasting.

  6. I've veen doing Keto for a year. I've lost 80lbs. Keto is a great diet for losing weight. Using a keto app to log food helps keep you on track and you don't over eat or go off track. I also do intermittent fasting which means I only eat twice a day. I know I wouldn't have lost as much weight eating three meals a day. As a forty something aged women it is hard to lose weight so that is why I eat twice a day and do intermittent fasting. But I really hate eating the same food every day. So I don't. I log my food everyday so I can have a variety of foods. I love food too much to eat the same thing all the time.
